Gone forever are the days of coal stoves and kitchen fires. Technology has provided us with beautiful and easy to use ovens which are operated by clicking a switch or simply turning a knob.

With so many options available when it comes to types, sizes and features, it’s important to make sure you know exactly what you want before you invest in an oven. Space is usually the first thing you need to consider and you should decide whether you want a standing or floating oven or the wall mounted type. Ovens installed into a wall are usually more popular in smaller kitchens and will free up some space in your kitchen to allow for more moving ability. Ovens vary in size and features so it’s wise to read the manual of the oven you are interested in before making the purchase.

Things to consider before buying a wall oven are:

Decide how much space you can allow for your wall oven and whether a double or single unit will be more practical. Get the measurements from your supplier and make sure that you do in fact have the space for that unit and remember to allow an additional centimeter or two for fitting it.  Regular ovens range in size between twenty four and thirty inches.

Open the ovens on display and check out the accessories and the quality of the racks and trays. These should be sturdy and not bendable. They should be strong enough to hold heavy dishes easily.

A Quality wall oven should have more features than just plain cooking or baking. Check your prospective oven for additional features which include removable parts or tilting elements for easy cleaning.

Decide early on if a gas or electric oven suits your needs better as gas can be rather expensive over the long run, but heats up easier. Electric ovens take long to warm up but could be less expensive.

Some ovens manufactures give you many more features for your money’s worth and might include easy LED displays, a light bulb inside the oven, probes and boilers, a timer and different heat settings.

A good wall oven should come with a guarantee or warrantee on replacement or repair should something deem faulty within at least a year after purchase. This give you peace of mind that you are buying a quality wall oven from a manufacturer who believes in he’s product and is willing to back it up with a guarantee.

The oven you decide to purchase is going to be an investment for the next 15 to 20 years of your live. Make sure you know what you are buying and who you are buying it from.
